Root Canal Treatment

A tooth's crown, or outer layer, is composed of three layers: pulp, dentin, and enamel.

Fillings or restorations can be used to treat tooth decay if it only affects the top two layers of the tooth. An endodontic or root canal therapy (RCT) is required if tooth decay infiltrates the pulp and results in inflammation or infection.
